【Uzbekistan News】The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Inspected Shargun Coal Technology Renovation Project
Uzbekistan News 30thApr., the president of Uzbekistan-Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Shargun Coal Technology Renovation Project which is undertaken by CRTG. The president Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the project and extended his best wishes to the all staff participating in the project whom from China and Uzbekistan.
The day was sunny and windy. Shargun Coal Project’s all kinds of machinery placed neatly on the site, the China and Uzbekistan flags fluttered in the wind at #10 Adit roof. At 12:30, the President’s helicopter landed on a temporary tarmac. After the plane, the president shake hands with chairman of UTY – Hashlov, general manager of Uzbekistan Coal Company – Alesjo, leader of UTY Angren-Pap railway Tunnel and Shargun Coal working team - Naurus, the general manager of CRTG overseas - Liu Chenyu and project leader.

Under the guidance of the Uzbekistan staff, the President first stepped into the welcoming room, where he heard the general situation report of the state's energy projects by governor of surhan river state - Tula, and watched the propaganda video of Sargon Coal project construction. Leaving the welcoming room, the president came to the #10 Adit, looking through the project construction pictures and effect picture, asking about current construction progress, the difficulties and operating index when the project finished. Chairman of UTY – Hashlov reported the technology and production system of the caol mine, project leader reported the progress of the project and the major technical management difficulties of the project to the president. The president said the resources of Shargun Coal is the best area in Uzbekistan and told CRTG to pay more attention to the safety and quality, build the Shargun Coal as soon as possible, bring a better life to the Uzbekistan people by using modern coal mining technology to produce more coal resources.
Then the president walked to the gate of the #10 Adit, shake hands with China and Uzbekistan staff who waving the flag. The president said to the staff, they’ve worked hard, he just participated in The second belt and road forum for international cooperation, China and Uzbekistan have a close relationship in economic area. And he hoped that CRTG can continue work in Uzbekistan for a long time and participate in more projects like Angren-Pap railway Tunnel. And he also wished the Chinese employees have a happy family and good health. Then the applause broke out in the people. At this moment, the national flags and corporate flags stand out under the sunshine. Everybody is sharing this beautiful and exciting historic moment.
Before the inspect ending, the president received the present, a safety helmet with the word “CRTG” which is sent by the general manager of CRTG overseas - Liu Chenyu. Manager Liu said that CRTG will work harder than before, do our best to construct the Shargun Coal, keep the closely relationship with Uzbekistan and look forward to further cooperation.
The president’s visit expressed the Uzbekistan government’s emphasis on the Shargun Coal project, and it’s also inspection to the phased results of the project. It gives great encouragement to all the staff participating in the construction and encourages them to overcome all the staff participating in the construction and encourages them to overcome all difficulties with confidence and determination, and take our advantages in technology and management, put the coal mine into production as soon as possible for betterment of the Uzbekistan people.
Shargun Coal Project is the second project which is undertaken by CRTG after Angren-Pap railway Tunnel in Uzbekistan, and it is also an organic combination of China high quality production and the transformation and upgrading of the Uzbekistan. It is a key energy project in China – Uzbekistan economic and trade cooperation. Shargun Coal is the first modern coal mine in Uzbekistan, the construction goal is to transforming 160 thousand tons per year into 900 thousand tons per year. As the general contractor, the project is constructed by the consortium which led by CRTG in EPC, and with the preferential export buyer’s credit provided by the Export-Import Bank of China. The contract duration is 38 months. On November 1, 2016, after the signing of the project contract, CRTG overcame the shortage of funds, clearance approval and other stage problems and fulfilled the contract as promised. On May 23, 2018, the official commencement and mobilization ceremony was successfully held, and the project entered the rapid construction stage.
Under the “One Belt and One Road” backgrounds, CRTG is willing to build more high quality and excellent projects for Uzbekistan, continuously upgrade Uzbekistan infrastructure and modern coal mining technology, contribute to the economic and trade cooperation between China and Uzbekistan, and write a new chapter in the history of China and Uzbekistan friendship.
