【Israel News】Thanks to the Hardwork of CRTG Team, Tel Aviv Light Rail Red Line Tunnel Civil Works (Eastern Segment) Successfully Completed

Tel Aviv News On May 28, 2020, with 20 months’ hardwork, CRTG successfully completed the Tel Aviv Light Rail Red Line Tunnel Civil Works (Eastern Segment)3 months ahead of schedule, marking a key milestone of the Red Line of Tel Aviv Light Rail.

Though there are many interfaces with other contractors working concurrently on site, as well as frequent shift of construction procedures, the construction activities are well coordinated and performed in an efficiency manner.

With the wisdom and close collaboration of both local employees and Chinese employees, CRTG has successfully overcome the challenges, such as underpassing in close proximity to existing highway,  gas pipeline, urban drainage pipe, sewage pipe, and bridge foundation etc.(with min. vertical distance of 2.5m) TBM launch in small curve of R57m, TBM tunneling in small curve of R150m, TBM breakthrough in Kucar ground with high pressure water (groundwater level is 7m above tunnel crown), conventional excavation of bamboo pin type bias pressure tunnel, TBM breakthrough and dismantling in pre-excavated  tunnel cavern. Moreover, the project team brainstormed and adopted reasonable construction suggestions of employees, optimized construction method, fully utilized efficiency of workers and machine combination, and contributed to the rapid construction, achieving the progress of 320 meters of non-fine concrete cast in a single shift.

Confronted with the outbreak of COVID-19 at the beginning of 2020, CRTG took epidemic prevention measures carefully to ensure "No Infected case, No Suspicious case" in the whole team while continuing with construction activities. Given the fact that some Chinese employees can’t return to Israel for work as scheduled, and local labor shortage caused by the "restriction order" from Israeli Government in COVID-19 pandemic, the project team exploited the potential of the limited available resources in order to maintain the required construction progress. On May 28, 2020, completion of first-stage concrete casting at the bottom of the last part of the tunnel marked the perfect ending of the project.

The completion of the Tel Aviv Light Rail Red Line Tunnel Civil Works (Eastern Segment) with safety, high-quality and efficiency proves CRTG’s professional competence to the Employer, Israeli Government and all sectors of society, and also promotes its marketing and performance in other projects.
