On May 30, the test running of the Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) of Tel Aviv Light Rail Red Line Project was successfully completed. After the final safety and security check of track, OHLE, power, communications and signaling system, the LRV left the depot at 18:00, passed Underground Station of Em HaMoshavot, and arrived at At-Grade East SHENKAR Stop at 19:30, marking a full success of the test running.

In order to complete this test running, CREC Israel Branch and CRTG-EEB proactively took the lead to coordinate all parties and organized six workshops for "Safety Assessment of LRV Test Runing" . Through the joint efforts of the Employer NTA, the Engineer WSP and the Contractor CRTG-EEB and the Integrator DB, the approval of the Ministry of Transportation (MOT) of Israel for the test running on the main line was finally issued.

Representatives from NTA, including NTA CEO Mr. Haim Glick, participated in and witnessed the whole process of the test running, and the largest local media Ynet made full coverage. Mr. Haim Glick said, "I am proud of everyone who participated in this work. The successful completion of the first LRV test running is an important step for the Red Line Project, proving our capabilities to complete the whole project". It is estimated that after the completion of the Red Line Project, the utilization rate of public transport means in Tel Aviv will be increased from 25% to 40%, and the usage time of private cars will be reduced by 12%, leading to the 10% less of the citizens’ commuting time, which will significantly alleviate the urban traffic congestion.
