【Georgia News】The Client of KK Highway Tunnel Project Praise CRTG

On June 10, Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia visit the Georgia KK Highway Tunnel Project which is undertaken by CRTG accompanied with chairman of Roads Department of Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Giorgi Tsereteli and vice chairman Levan Kupatashvili. They inspected the progress of TBM assembly, launch shaft and emergency tunnel excavation.

In an interview with local medium on site, Irakli Karseladze said: ″It is precious that CRTG has maintained the project with schedule and high quality when facing in unfavorable geological, water burst, rainy weather, COVID-19, lack of materials and extension of delivery period, etc. I am very satisfied with the progress of the project, and hope that the project will continue to be orderly, high-quality and efficient, and the tunnel will break through as soon as possible. ″

On June 1, the TBM main bearing is delivered safely to site after project staff overcame difficulties, such as road closure by blizzard and traffic restriction in mountainous areas. The project staff work day and night to speed up the TBM assembly work. Up to now, TBM main drive, front shield, middle shield, propulsion oil cylinder, gripper shoe, 2-6#trailer, tail platform and other main parts have been basically assembled, and other works continues as schedule.
