On October 19, the first TBM "China Railway 1076" used by China Railway Tunnel Group for construction in Macao was successfully launched off production line in Shunde base, Guangdong Province, and will be used for the contract for design and construction of the improvement of wastewater pipeline of the ZAPE and NAPE area.

The contract for design and construction of the improvement of wastewater pipeline of the ZAPE and NAPE area is not only the first time that China Railway Tunnel Group has entered the Macao market, but also the first tunnel project constructed by TBM method in Macao. It mainly includes a sewage pipeline with an internal diameter of 2m between the reclamation area of Macao's new port and heishahuan sewage treatment plant. The section of Youyi Road is constructed by TBM, which is about 2262 meters long.

"China Railway 1076" TBM is jointly developed by China Railway Tunnel Group and China railway Engineering Equipment, with a diameter of 3.38 meters, a total length of about 190 meters and a total weight of about 396 tons. It adopts spherical hinge to adapt to the interval section with a minimum turning radius of 50 meters, and uses pump slag discharge to realize the transportation of slag and soil in the way of whole process sealed pipeline, which will not only improve the construction efficiency, but also improve the construction environment.

After the completion of the tunnel, the sewage pipe threading construction and pipe connection installation will be carried out. After completion, the sewage discharge system capacity of the ZAPE and NAPE area will be improved to effectively solve the problem of sewage overflow polluting the sea water at the outer port wharf of Macao citizens.
