【Singapore News】CRTG Achieved the WSH SHARP Award 2022

On 27th July 2022, the Singapore Circle Line 6 C885 Project undertaken by China Railway Tunnel Group (CRTG) achieved the SHARP (Safety and Health Award Recognition for Projects) Award.

The SHARP presented by the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council and supported by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), only awards large-scale projects or worksites that have good safety and health performance, workplace safety and health management systems.

As the delegate, General Manager of CRTG Singapore Branch & C885 Project Director was invited to attend the WSH Awards 2022 Ceremony, and received the award.

 

CRTG C885 Project Management Team 

 

Since the commencement of the project in October 2017, the project management team has devoted to implementing safety measures. For example, the project has established Safety Committee constituted of CRTG management, LTA, QPS, Sub-contractors. The near-miss reporting procedures has been implemented that unsafe condition or act will be immediately reported to alert everyone, to avoid major accidents, incidents or dangers. Monthly safety campaign has been conducted to enhance safety awareness in workforce and to promote good safety culture with engineers, supervisors, workers practicing best safety performance.

 

The project management team has attached great importance to tackling the epidemic’s influence and resuming works. The Project’s SMOs (Safe Management Officers) and SDOs (Safe Distancing Officers) has taken multiple measures to protect project staffs and helped them to continue daily working, such as formulating and promoting Project Safety Management Measures at the workplace, establishing the TOLQ (Temporary Occupancy License Quarters) for housing workers, dividing staffs by teams (Team A, Team B) with segmented scope of work and taking care of workers’ mental health and welfares. In addition, ART (Antigen Rapid Test) Station has been setup for virus detection in the shortest time and all staffs are encouraged to get vaccinated.

 

Above all, 3,000,000 Accident-free Man-hours of C885 Project was achieved in July 2022 and the tunnel breakthrough was accomplished in January 2022. “It has been everyone’s effort to achieve SHARP Award.” C885 Project Director Mr. Sun Qingtian said, “We will never slow down our pace. We believe the next goal is not far from now.”
